The Pine Tree Festival!

On Saturday, Kyle and I went to the Pine Tree Festival. I can not remember when the last time I attended this parade and activities. It has certainly changed over the years! Mom, Kyle and I got great seats for the parade. We were able to set up chairs right next to the curb. Kyle was a good boy and sat in his stroller the entire time.
Kyle and Ga Ga checking out all of his candy that he was thrown during the parade. Kyle just enjoyed getting the candy and thankfully he was not concerned with eating it.

After the parade and lunch, we went out to the Recreation Dept. to check out the activites. They had a little area with kids activites and this is where we defintely headed.

Kyle and I went on the big slide (TWICE)! It was really fun but the plastic was SO hot it was burning our feet. Kyle thought it was too hot so as we were climbing straight up the side ladder thingy he would hold onto my arms and not put his feet down. I thought I was never going to get to the top trying to balance him on my arms but we did....

Next Kyle and MeMe went on the strawberry spinners. However Kyle thought they looked like apples. So he named the ride "apple juice".

After we left the Rec Dept. Kyle and I went over to see Nannie and Pa (Ben's grandparents) and Dee Dee and Little Pa (Ben's parents). Kyle had a great time right in the golf cart with Pa and Little Pa!

After we left Nannie and Pa's, Kyle and I went over to Dee Dee and Little Pa's house for a while. Kyle enjoyed playing with the Mr. Potato Heads and eating fresh strawberries! (Thank you for the strawberries you sent home with Kyle...he loves them and ate some with supper tonight!)

Flashback Friday

On some of the blogs I read they have Wordless Wednesday or Favorite Foto Friday...I have always thought this was neat so I was thinking I might start my own but call it "Flashback Friday". What do you think? Do you like it? Should I keep it up for a while? Or do you only want to see what Kyle is up to now?

In honor of Kyle and I planning to attend the Pine Tree Festival parade on Saturday I thought I would post a picture of the very first parade he attended! This is the afternoon parade at Walt Disney World in March 2007. He was 12 weeks old when he made his first Disney Trip. As you can tell he loved his first parade!

I have a feeling he will be more awake and active this weekend at his first Pine Tree Festival!

Wear a Blue Shirt day!

Today was "Wear a Blue Shirt Day" at school for Kyle! So of course I had to get pictures this morning to mark this special day! :-)

When we got in the car he had to put on his sun glasses. Doesn't he look so cool!?!

One of Kyle's favorite things to do right now is coloring, painting or basically any kind of art project. So tonight I got out the paints Mom and I had got him, moved the easel from Dee Dee and Little Pa to the kitchen and let him paint. We carefully went through all of the big coloring pages and decided upon the turtle. Kyle had a blast!
(P.S. How do you like the Crayola smock? This worked out wonderful- no paint on him at all!!!)

Saturday's cycles

On Saturday, Mom and Vicki came to see us. First we went to Sam's and Kyle found the doon buggy/four wheeler. He immediately had to crawl in and then he insisted Ga Ga sit with him. He was so cute because he was driving Ga Ga and then they had to switch places and Ga Ga had to drive him.

In the afternoon (after Kyle's nap and I had to work) we went to the mall. Kyle enjoyed riding all of the toys in the food court area (Thank you MeMe and Ga Ga!) I think he liked riding the motorcycle/four wheeler the best!

Kyle and his new friend... Allie

On Saturday, Kyle and I went attended the March for Babies for the March of Dimes. We were a part of "Huffman Huskies Team" with Dana and Tim in honor of Stephen and Matthew.

The highlight of Kyle's trip was meeting Mrs. Lauren's dog Allie, who came with us to walk. Kyle has never played with or been a fan of big dogs but he instantly started wanting to see her and then he started feeding her goldfish.

Once we got to Forsyth Park, Kyle was able to get out of his stroller and really get to pet and play with her. Mrs. Lauren showed Kyle how to pet Allie's tummy.

I can not remember if it was Kyle's or Mrs. Lauren's idea....but the next thing I knew Kyle was riding Allie!

Kyle thought this was the best thing ever!!!

Kyle playing peek-a-boo with Allie's leash.

Thank you Mrs. Lauren and Allie for playing with Kyle! He is asking me when can he see Allie "one more time". :-)
