Pine Tree Festival

A couple of Saturday's ago, Kyle and I went to Swainsboro for the annual Pine Tree Festival. It was fun however Kyle decided he did not like loud noises. (Which is VERY weird to me considering HE is louder than all of the sounds in the parade combined!) Anyway.... He kept his ears covered for the majority of the parade.

The cute hat he is wearing is from Vicki and the East Georgia College float she was riding on! :-)

After the parade and a visit to Dairy Queen. We went out to the Rec Department where all the inflatables and crafts were set up. As you can tell Kyle had a GREAT time on the big slide! :-)

Then he played on a smaller size inflatable bounce house, slide thingy....

After we ran out of tickets for the inflatable stuff, Kyle enjoyed playing on the play ground! Which was really nice.
Of course he went down the slide 100 times!

And then Vicki pushed him on the merry-go-round. I think it was the first time he had ever been on one of those....of course he loved it!

Lots of changes...

Over the last several months lots of changes have been happening around our house... i know still no excuse not to blog.... :-)

The biggest change is that we will be welcoming baby boy #2 in our house in August! We are very excited and as nervous as I was about telling Kyle he has been the best, most excited big brother any one could ask for. I am so proud of him and I know (hope and pray) that he will continue this positive loving attitude toward the baby when he arrives.

So with this major event of having a new little one join us, comes also the stress of getting the house moved around and re-organized. I know that most days I just go on a tear and start cleaning out things. My husband and co-workers now think I am officially nuts for watching the hoarding shows on TV and thinking that is me! I know that I do not have pizza boxes from 1992 but come on... some of the junk that I have saved is ridiculous. Mom will be the first to tell you about my telephone book collection that dated back to 2000. Yes, all of the telephone books are now cleaned out but there is still so much more! I am in the process of cleaning out the office to turn it into the baby's room and everywhere I am turning I find more stuff....(or junk as I have been calling it.) Goodwill has been receiving LOTS of stuff from me right now. At least I am giving it all up for a good cause....right?!?!

Now on to another major stressor...this baby boy's name. What in the WORLD are we going to name him?!? When I was pregnant with baby boy #1, Ben and I went through all of the name lists and we both looked at each other and said Kyle...it was perfect...it just clicked. However, this time we can't really agree 100% on anything. And that worries me A LOT....I want the perfect name that clicks. What if I never find that? Should I just settle?

Then on the other hand I heard an amazing testimonial from a mom who's child is being treated at the children's hospital. She said before her son was born she focused on his name- his perfect name- but never thought about the life changing diagnosis he could have when he was born. Her story has stuck with me so much.

Okay I am sorry for the rambling blog tonight...however it seems all I do these days is ramble. I'm going to get up from here and go clean something. :-) Good Night.

Komen Race 2010

A couple of weeks ago, Ms. Denise (Ben's Mom), Monica (Ben's sister), Marti and Jonna (nieces), Kyle and I all participated in the Komen walk. We had a lot of fun and it was really over before I knew it! I can't believe we walked the mile in no time!

Below is Mr. John completing the 5K race!

After the race all of the grandchildren had there picture taken with De De and Little Pa!

Marti and Kyle got these hat things from Memorial. They were too funny! Kyle is still wearing his around the house from time to time.

A visit to the Easter Chicks!

Friday night, we went to visit the Easter Chicks at the Mall. Kyle really got into it this visit this year! He kept wanting to hold the baby chick but then would start busting out laughing every time I would try to put the baby chick in his hand because he said its feet would tickle his hands! :-)

Kyle holding the baby chick by himself.
Can you believe it has been an entire year since we have visited the Easter chicks. Check out last year's post here!

Even though we had already visited the Easter Bunny, when Kyle saw him he just HAD to go say hello!
