Snow Bubbles!

On Tuesday night, Kyle and I attended the Children' Hospital annual Hematology/Oncology Holiday party. This party is primarily for children and their families who are currently taking cancer treatments and for children with blood disorders.

This party had a little bit of it all! They had music, games, pizza, etc. Kyle's favorite part of the night was the bubble snow they had blowing as you walked through the doors. He kept going back wanting to catch the bubbles! He was so cute I got a few pictures of him playing in it!

I know that sometimes I get down because I have to work and can not be home with Kyle all the time but I honestly have a very rewarding job - raising money for sick children. What better thing could I be working for!? Kyle will one day understand what Mommy does and hopefully this will teach him that we need to help others.

Yes, I know Daddy has the "cooler" job, and it is much more fun to go see planes than sit in an old office or go to an event with Mommy! :-)

Wrapping Paper frenzy

During this holiday season I have asked many people to help me wrap presents. So far, everyone has laughed at me and told me no! Well never fear I GOT my holiday wish by having a "helper" wrap presents with me last night!

Some how this was not the kind of "help" I was looking for but at least it was fun! :-)
If you receive a gift from us this year with really wrinkled paper....now you will know why!

The Wiggles!!!

Tonight was the long anticipated Wiggles Concert! We had told Kyle he was going to see the Wiggles but I don't think it really registered with him until The Wiggles actually came out on stage. The opening number was these clowns performing and doing acrobatics. They did great. But all of the excitement hit when The Wiggles drove out on to the stage in the Big Red Car. Kyle just gasped in excitement and started pointing! It was SO cute to see him get that excited.

Everytime Captain Feather Sword, Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur or Henry the Octopus would come on stage he get this excited look on his face like he could not believe that he was actually seeing them for real!

I know that this was during the week and it was hard for us to take him with Ben getting off work for the 1 hour & a 1/2 concert and me hurrying to pick him up from school, go out to eat on a Mommy and Kyle date, and get to the Civic Center by 6:30 p.m. but every bit of it was SO worth it when we saw the excitement and joy in his eyes.

Now my little angel is sleeping peacefully in his bed. I hope he is dreaming sweet dreams of Wags the Dog and Dorothy the Dinosaur....

Daddy and Kyle's new game!

Daddy and Kyle have a new game! They sit on the edge between the living/dining room and kitchen and thrown balls at my stove and make them come back to them. Kyle thinks this is hysterical and of course any balls that do not roll back to them Kyle is more than happy to run after!

I was at Wal-Mart when this game was thought up on Saturday and I must admit it may not have passed the "mommy approval test" but now Kyle loves it SO much he had Ben sit down with him several more times on Sunday to play again. What can I say?!?

Disney on Ice!

On Sunday, Ben, Kyle and I went to the afternoon matinee of Disney On Ice. Kyle really enjoyed watching all the characters and the music. When we first got there and got seated he looked up at Ben and said "Like It!" and started clapping. I was really worried about our seats cause we were seating out across from the stage kind of high up but it was perfect. At one point Ben leaned over and told me that if we ever come back to another event in the arena he wanted to get those seats again! Well with that statement I knew I had done good! :-)
In between seeing the different stories of The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch and Peter Pan, Mickey Mouse and friends would come out. Kyle got so excited every time and would point, clap and call out to "Goopy" and "Mickmey".

Kyle watching intently...

At one point all that dancers/skaters were on the ice.

Ben said he felt like someone was staring at him! haha Kyle LOVES this Flounder hat! He kept turning it around backwards on his head.

Playing with Mommy

When we got home on Sunday Kyle and I played in the floor for a long time. I put on his beloved Flounder hat and took his papi.....

He was laughing so hard he could barely stand up to get me!

I love afternoons like this!

Trick or Treating at the Huffman's!

Kyle and I went to Ms. Dana and Mr. Tim's house to Trick or Treat again this year. Not too mention they are Kyle's favorite people right now but it is sort of turned into a tradition.
Last year when it was Kyle's first Halloween, Ben and I wanted to take Kyle to one house and we knew that Dana and Tim would be home. We drove to to there house and I jumped out and got Kyle out of his carseat and put on his spider costume. On our way to the door ( I was carrying Kyle) I asked Ben to take a picture. Ben did....of Dana!!! On our way back to the car after Kyle's first trick or treating experience he asked me why I wanted a picture of Dana. It never occured to him to take a picture of Kyle!
Dana and Tim - I can not wait for you to bring Stephen and Matthew over to our house next year! I'll make sure I dress up so you can get my picture at the front door! :-)

Happy Halloween!

Kyle had his first Halloween Party at daycare on Friday! It was alot of fun! Kyle wore his costume for alot of the party but then when he got too hot he wore his favorite pumpkin shirt.

Ben and I made two carnival type games for the kids to play. We made the fishing game and then Ben made a big pumpkin for the kids to toss bean bags into. They loved it! However I do think Kyle's favorite part was the snack! :-)

Fall Festival

On Wednesday night, we all got to go the the fall festival that a church near by was having. It was really special because Ben got to take off work for a few hours and go with us. Kyle had a blast wearing his Halloween costume (Thank you Cousin Sharon!) and playing the games at the festival.
This is a ring toss with hula hoops!

This was the cutest thing... it was a baby pool with packing peanuts that had candy at the bottom. Kyle didn't care a thing in the world about the candy but he loved playing in the packing peanuts. (Hint Hint Ga Ga!!!)

Outside Kyle got a bowl of fruit loops to make a candy necklace but he decided to eat them instead! Take a look at the pumpkin side of him - it's ELMO!!

Kyle got to ride Daddy's shoulders back to the car!

Now on Friday Kyle has his first Halloween party at school! I have takenoff work so I can go and to be honest I can not wait!!!

Work, Work, and More Work...with a little fun!

Hello! Things have been VERY busy for us lately. Ben and I sat down on Monday to look at the calendar of upcoming stuff and it was very overwhelming. But I guess it may have seemed that way after we have just worked all weekend --Saturday and Sunday. But no rest for the weary! It's halloween week!! :-)
Thank goodness Kyle has been in the best mood and because he has had several late nights with Mommy lately. But even after these late nights he is waking up in the mornings happy and ready to go to school!
Ben took this picture while Kyle was eating his yogurt before school. Kyle is very much a "I do it myself" kind of boy right now. As you can see the "I do it myself" can get kind of messy!

Kyle posing in his Halloween shirt Aunt Amber gave him. Thank you Aunt Amber! This is his favorite shirt! I think we may have our picture taken with Santa Claus with it on! :-)

Just in case Ben and I didn't think we had enough planned... we had Christmas pictures on Saturday morning. As you can see Kyle is waiting patiently (well for a little bit) before the pictures. By the way- he did great! I can not wait to see the proofs!

Then he decided to lay down!!
The rest of our week we will be doing fun halloween stuff with Kyle. I am looking forward to taking him to fall festivals, his Halloween party at school, and carving a pumpkin with daddy. But mostly just enjoying every minute of this time. I know that he will only be this age once and honestly it is passing by way to quickly!

SMILE!

Last night at supper, Kyle and I were talking and I held up my phone to take his picture and told him to SMILE! This is his new "CHEESE!"

School Picture Day!

Today was Kyle's picture day at school. I wanted him to dress nice but still be casual for school. When I saw this blue button up at Gap I knew it would be perfect. I think he looked so cute this morning!

Ben and I were trying to get a few pictures before school.
"BUS! BUS!! BUS!!!"
The bus has left and he is now onto the next mission....

Fun times

I know I have said that every age that Kyle has been is my favorite but I have to admit right now we are having the best time. He is full of adventure, energy, excitement and talks up a storm! Yes, I know he gets that honest!!

Below are a few cute pictures we have taken over the last few days...

This is a little red wagon that I received a flowers in when Kyle was born. Now somehow it has found it way into the list of toys to play with!

I love fall clothes! Friday morning, we dressed Kyle in his blue jean overalls and he was the cutest thing ever! Ben was so excited because he told me of how his Pa used to carry him by the back of the overalls and now he could do it to Kyle. Kyle thought it was great and everytime Ben would pick him up Kyle would yell "Wee."

Kyle is intent on watching cartoons. He pulled my couch cushion on to the floor so he would have something to prop up on.

On Saturday, Mom and I took Kyle to get his hair cut. In front of the Dawg House there is this large statue of UGA in the front. Kyle started pointing and calling "UGOOO" so we pulled into the resturant and let Kyle see UGOOO up close.

Kyle petting UGOOO's ear!

I love this pose that Kyle is doing! My mom is showing Kyle the big G on UGOOO's shirt. After examining it, he thought it was pretty neat!

E is for....

ELMO!

Kyle's daycare class is learning the letters of the alphabet and each Monday when they start a new letter I bring them a snack that starts with that letter.

It has been very easy up until now....

A is for Apple
B is for Banana
C is for Cookie
D is for Doughnut holes
E is for .... eggs, eggplant???

Well this letter truely stumped me. I knew that I could not send hard boiled eggs or egg salad for the kids. I didn't even know what an egg plant looked like myself so that was pretty much out.

I talked with my best friend about it and she suggested Eggo cereal which I immediately went out and got. But then I was worried that the kids would not know what and Eggo was... (Yes... I know I am putting WAY to much thought in to this project!)

So on Friday night, I said ELMO! All kids know who Elmo is! I know Elmo is not a food group but I could make something and use his picture for the kids! After Kyle went to sleep I searched the internet and found and E coloring sheet with Elmo on it and ran copies for the class. Then on Saturday, Mom, Kyle and I set out on (what we thought) would be an easy task of getting Elmo cupcake toppers. WRONG! After visiting 2 Wal-marts, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Rite Aid, Dollar General, Michael's, Party City, Target, we finally found something at AC Moores. Well only 8 somethings.... I had to figure something out for the other 16.... That is when the make toothpick toppers from Elmo stickers came into play. Ben was a really good sport and helped me cut them out because everyone knows I failed cutting in kindergarten.... :-) And along came the mini cupcakes for Kyle's class with Elmo! The ELMO cupcakes were a huge hit with the kids on Monday and they have enjoyed the Eggo cereal all week for snack time.

Now on to the letter F....

Kyle's school fundraiser

Kyle is once again selling Sally Foster wrapping paper and gifts to help raise money for his school! PLEASE do not feel obligated to buy something but if you would like to please let me know and I will be happy to send you the e-mail link! Thank you!!

Emilia's Playdate

We are still here! Sorry it has been so long since I have posted new pictures! This has been a very busy last few weeks! Ben and I have been working non stop and then I had my conference in California last week. Got home on Friday and then had to work most of the day on Saturday as well as that night at an event for the hospital.

Also on Saturday, Kyle had a water play date at Emilia's house. We did not get to stay for the entire time because I had to get back to work but it was nice to take him for about 45 mins - 1 hour. He had a good time event though he was the only little boy there. But he was very happy to see Grace!

All the little girls had run off but Kyle was very busy putting the star fish rings on the alligators tail! He was so proud of himself when he finished!

My little Chef & his bedroom shoes!

On Sunday Ben found Kyle a pair of bedroom shoes at Wal-Mart. They are brown and have a dog on them. Needless to say Kyle LOVES them!!

Rocking before night night time on Sunday!

On Monday afternoon, I baked some sugar cookies for us to enjoy this week. Kyle did excellent the entire time I was mixing, rolling and cutting them out by patiently sitting in his high chair watching me. (Well I did bribe him with raisins!) Then when I got to the end I gave him a ball of the left over dough. He thought it was the neatest thing!

He was trying to use my cookie cutter....

Oh well... he couldn't figure out the cookie cutter so he decided to wear it on his nose!
It was a lot of fun to do this with him. I have got to keep reminding myself that he is getting old enough to start trying things with me. Maybe we will come up with another activity this weekend!

MiKaley's Birthday Party!

Today we had our first adventure to the Flying Frogs for MiKaley's birthday party. (Happy Birthday MiKaley!!) We had a lot of fun and Kyle enjoyed riding the "truck" and the other rides. It was great to see Amber and family. However I wish I could have gotten to talk a little more but with Mr. "I can't stay still" Kyle there was never a dull or slow moment.

This was some kind of chicken and egg machine. We never played it but I honestly think Kyle stuck his nose to the glass 100 times!
