We had an absolute wonderful day today! Fortuntely Ben was off work and Kyle was feeling much better so we decided to have a family day. Our day started off with the both boys sleeping in until 8:30am (WOW!!) Then we got dressed and headed to Oatland Island. Ben and I felt really bad that Kyle missed the Owl that visited his classroom last week when he was sick so we made sure that was the first stop. I really like this picture of the boys, even though the owl wouldn't look at me! haha
We walked through the nature trails but most of the animals were napping so we headed over to the Farm Yard. Evan LOVED the Rooster! I think he probably liked it so much because that is Ben's alarm on the weekends so we hear it all the time! :-)
After we left Oatland Island, we went to lunch. The boys were really starting to get tired but lunch seemed to revive them. So after we ate we headed out to the beach. The boys didn't really know where we were going and that made it even more fun when we got there. Little did they know I had packed there swimsuits and towels into the back of the car before we left. Kyle immediatly started jumping around and asking if they could get out of the car to at least see the water. When I got out and went to pay the parking meter and Ben said the whole time he was asking/begging to please get out of the car and that he promised not get wet. (yeah, right!) :-) Well when I got back to the car and opened the back I handed Kyle his swim suit and asked him to put it on. I don't think he has ever gotten dressed that fast!
This was Evan's first time to really play at the beach. He was absolutely beside himself!

After we played in the water for a while we went up and played in the sand. This kind of surprised me cause Evan usually doesn't like to get dirt on his hands but this time he was totally into it!
However he did stop long enough to give me a big "CHEESE!"
We had a GREAT day and I can't wait until we get to spend another family day together again! (By the way, sorry for so many pictures in this post. When I downloaded all of them we had taken 329 today!)
